Dating Safety Policy

This policy describes how Pipe works to prevent, receive, review and respond to safety concerns. We design for adult autonomy, consent, privacy, proportionate enforcement and clear communication without labeling any person or interaction “safe.”

Members must be at least 18. Suspected underage accounts are restricted while reviewed. Minors may not appear in profile media, and identifying information about minors may not be published. Suspected sexual exploitation or other apparent illegal material is isolated from ordinary moderation and escalated under the applicable preservation and reporting process.

Pipe prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including grooming, sextortion, trafficking, sexual solicitation of a minor, sexualized content involving a minor and any attempt to create, obtain, share or promote child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This prohibition applies to profiles, photos, messages and conduct connected to a Pipe interaction. It applies even though Pipe does not permit minors to hold accounts or appear in profile media.

Pipe removes or restricts known prohibited material and accounts, preserves evidence only when appropriate, and makes reports to the relevant authorities or designated reporting organization when required by applicable law. Members can report a profile or conversation without leaving the app. Child-safety concerns may also be sent to [email protected]. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Pipe uses account controls, rate limits, authentication, duplicate and abuse signals, profile and media checks, member reports and trained review to identify suspected impersonation, scams, harassment, threats, non-consensual intimate content, exploitation and other prohibited behavior. Automated signals support triage; they do not independently establish that a person is trustworthy or dangerous.

Pipe uses a Persona-hosted photo-confirmation flow to compare a recent selfie or video with the member's current adult profile photos. Pipe explains Persona's role and links both privacy notices before opening that flow. The current photo-confirmation check does not request government ID and does not establish a legal name, background, exact age, intentions, future behavior or safety. A badge states only that the specific current-photo comparison was completed; members should treat it as one limited anti-impersonation signal.

Blocking, reporting, unmatching and pausing are available without payment. Blocking ends the relevant contact path and suppresses ordinary rediscovery. Reports may cover profiles, media, messages or offline conduct connected to a Pipe interaction. We limit what the reported person learns about a report to protect reporters and investigations.

Reviews consider available evidence, severity, recurrence, context, immediate risk and the reliability of automated signals. Outcomes can include no action, guidance, content removal, visibility restriction, warning, temporary suspension or account termination. Severe or credible imminent-risk matters are prioritized. Safety evidence is access-controlled and retained only for a defined appeal, legal or protection purpose.

When doing so will not expose another person or undermine safety, Pipe provides the affected member with the policy category and scope of an enforcement action. Eligible actions include an appeal route. Appeals are reviewed separately from the original decision when practicable, and successful appeals result in correction of the enforcement record and affected access.

• Keep early conversations in Pipe and move at your own pace.
• Do not send money, financial credentials, identity documents or intimate material to someone you have not independently come to trust.
• Use video or voice conversation as one signal, not proof of identity or intent.
• Meet in a public place, control your own transportation and tell a trusted person your plans.
• Do not reveal your home, workplace, routine or precise family schedule early.
• Leave, block and report whenever conduct feels coercive, deceptive or unsafe.

Date-planning tools help members coordinate a time and public venue. A private Safe Date plan can help a member remember a check-in and deliberately share selected details through the device's share options. Pipe does not monitor an in-person meeting, track live movement, dispatch help, contact a trusted person or emergency services, or guarantee anyone's safety. A reminder or completed check-in is not proof of what occurred offline.

Pipe maintains written moderation categories, reviewer access controls, escalation paths and incident records. We evaluate response timeliness, reversals, recurrence and systemic abuse. Where a jurisdiction requires a public safety policy, regulator submission or annual safety report, Pipe will complete that process before or within the legally required launch period.
